Description
Tomnaverie Stone Circle
North-East Scotland
The Recumbent stone circles are a type peculiar to north-east Scotland.
The Circle dates from 2500BC
When you stand at the centre of the circle, the two tall pillars command a view of Lochnagar which is 20 miles away - unfortunately obscured by the cloud.
It also provides a view of the full moon around midsummer at the limit of its movement.
